What we do

At Armenian-American Action Network, we use the power of our grassroots community organizing to protect Armenian-American civil rights and build Armenian-American power. We are fighting every day for civil, immigrant, and refugee rights in the United States for Armenians and for all communities. We work to protect Armenian-Americans from hate, racism, and structural violence.

We fight for Armenian-American:

  • civil rights

  • immigrant rights

  • refugee rights

Our work —

WE fight anti-Armenian Racism and defamation

Our central mission is to eradicate anti-Armenian racism and its intersections. We fight against all systems of racism and build our community power to dismantle anti-Armenian oppression. We organize against anti-Armenian hate speech, rhetoric, and violence. Our community deserves civil rights protections. And we believe all communities do.

We build power through Armenian-American representation on the U.S. Census and G.O.T.V.

Armenian-American communities have been undercounted and underfunded because of lack of representation on the U.S. Census. We can no longer have our issues and families erased in the United States. We join scholars, activists and educators of MENA/SWANA descent in fighting for accurate representation on the U.S. Census. We make policymakers listen to our community needs and we do so by exercising our political muscle. Don’t count us out!

We teach armenian-American History and push armenian-American Studies

We believe education truly empowers our communities. We host workshops and educational on Armenian-American History especially around civil rights, racism, immigration and refugeehood, for all types of organizations and individuals.

We fight for accurate and empowering representation

We fight for more, accurate, and empowering representation of Armenian-Americans, Armenian immigrants and refugees. The more we work together across difference, the more power we can build. We seek to increase opportunities for marginalized communities in all aspects of U.S. political, economic and social life and in media.

We Build Coalitions with Other Marginalized Groups

We believe in standing with other groups who have faced oppression historically and are fighting oppression today. Learning about other issues and teaching our issues is essential to building civil rights, immigrant rights, refugee rights and social justice for all.

We give Armenian-Americans a Voice

Armenian-American Action Network is constantly building platforms for Armenian-Americans to express themselves and come up with solutions for today’s problems. Together.
